ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗ ಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಗೋಣೀತಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard [it], that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೇ ಅವನು ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಕನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಎಲ್ಯಾಕೀಮ್‌, ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶೆಬ್ನ, ಹಿರಿಯರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರು ಇವ ರನ್ನು ಕರೆಸಿ--ನೀವು ಗೋಣೀತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡು, ಆಮೋಚನ ಮಗನೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಯೆಶಾಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕಳುಹಿ ಸಿದನು.
And he sent Eliakim, who [was] over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಈ ದಿವಸವು ಕಷ್ಟಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಗದರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ದೂಷಣೆಯಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದೆ. ಪ್ರಸವವೇದನೆಯ ಕಾಲವು ಬಂದದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಹೆರುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲ ಸಾಲದು.
And they said unto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day [is] a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and [there is] not strength to bring forth.
ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರುವನು; ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂ ಪನಾದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಾನು; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಆತನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸು ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up [thy] prayer for the remnant that is left.
ಅರಸ ನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಯೆಶಾಯನು--
So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀ; ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡ.
And Isaiah said unto them, Thus shall ye say unto your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ವಿಪತ್ತನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು ಎಂಬ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Behold, I will send a blast upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
ಹೀಗೆ ರಬ್ಷಾಕನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ದಾರಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಲಾಕೀಷನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದನೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ಕೇಳಿ ಲಿಬ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.
So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
ಅಷ್ಟ ರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಥಿಯೋಪ್ಯದ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿರ್ಹಾಕನು ತನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾ ನೆಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಕೇಳಿ--
And he heard say concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He is come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard [it], he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
ನೀನು ನಂಬುವ ದೇವರು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ವಶವಾಗುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಾನು;
Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
ಇಗೋ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶ ಮಾಡಿದರೆಂದು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ; ಹೀಗಿದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವಿಯೋ?
Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?
ನನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಗೋಜಾನ್‌, ಖಾರಾನ್‌, ರೆಚೆಫ್‌ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಲಸ್ಸಾರ್‌ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಏದೆನಿನ ಜನ ರನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದವೋ?
Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, [as] Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden which [were] in Telassar?
ಹಮಾತ್‌, ಅರ್ಪಾದ್‌, ಸೆಫರ್ವಯಿಮ್‌, ಹೇನ, ಇವ್ವಾ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಅರಸರು ಏನಾದರೂ ಎಂಬ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
Where [is] the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?
ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಆ ಸೇವಕರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ಓದಿದನು; ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ತೆರೆದಿಟ್ಟು,
And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಕೆರೂಬಿಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀನೇ, ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭೂರಾಜ್ಯಗಳ ದೇವರು.
And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying,
ನೀನೇ ಭೂಮ್ಯಾಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದವನು.
O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest [between] the cherubims, thou [art] the God, [even] thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳು; ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ನೋಡು; ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳು.
Incline thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open thine eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to reproach the living God.
ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸರು ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗ ಗಳನ್ನೂ ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿ, ಅವರ ದೇವತೆ ಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದು ನಿಜ.
Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,
ಅವು ದೇವರುಗಳಲ್ಲ, ಮರ, ಕಲ್ಲು, ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೈ ಕೆಲಸ ಗಳೇ ಆದದರಿಂದಲೇ ಅವರು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they [were] no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಓ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀನೇ, ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಕರ್ತನೆಂದು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು ಎಂದು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.
Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou [art] the LORD, [even] thou only.
ಆಗ ಆಮೋಚನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಬಿನ್ನಹವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವದೇ ನಂದರೆ--ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯಾದ ಚೀಯೋನ್‌ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ, ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ; ಯೆರೂಸ ಲೇಮಿನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
This [is] the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, [and] laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
ನೀನು ಯಾರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿ ದೂಷಿಸಿದ್ದೀ? ಯಾರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ವರವೆತ್ತಿ ನೀನು ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದ್ದು ಯಾರನ್ನು? ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನಿಗಲ್ಲವೋ?
Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted [thy] voice, and lifted up thine eyes on high? [even] against the Holy One of Israel.
ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿ--ನನ್ನ ರಥಸಮೂಹದೊಡನೆ ಪರ್ವತ ಶಿಖರಗಳನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ಭಾಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಅದರ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ದೇವದಾರು, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ತುರಾಯಿ ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದುಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಅಂಚಿನ ಉನ್ನತವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಕರ್ಮೇಲಿನ ಅಡವಿಯನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ;
By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof, [and] the choice fir trees thereof: and I will enter into the height of his border, [and] the forest of his Carmel.
ನಾನೇ ಅಗೆದು ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನನ್ನ ಅಂಗಾಲಿನಿಂದ ಐಗು ಪ್ತದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬತ್ತಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೀ.
I have digged, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.
ಹೀಗಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬಹುಕಾಲದ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಈಗ ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿ ಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದದರಿಂದಲೇ ಕೋಟೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣ ಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ದಿಬ್ಬಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು;
Hast thou not heard long ago, [how] I have done it; [and] of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste defenced cities [into] ruinous heaps.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಗಳು ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿ ಆಶಾಭಂಗ ಪಟ್ಟು ಕಳವಳ ಗೊಂಡರು; ಅವರು ಹೊಲದ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆಯೂ ಹಸಿರು ಎಲೆಯಂತೆಯೂ ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನ ಹುಲ್ಲಿನಂತೆಯೂ ಹೊಡೆಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಬಾಡಿಹೋಗುವ ಪೈರಿನಂತೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದರು.
Therefore their inhabitants [were] of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were [as] the grass of the field, and [as] the green herb, [as] the grass on the housetops, and [as corn] blasted before it be grown up.
ನೀನು ವಾಸಿಸುವದು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗುವದು, ಒಳಗೆ ಬರುವದು; ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ರೌದ್ರಾವೇಶನಾಗಿ ರುವದನ್ನೂ ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು.
But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
ನೀನು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ರೌದ್ರನಾಗಿರುವದೂ ಗೊಂದಲ ದಿಂದಿರುವದೂ ನನ್ನ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಬಂತು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೂಗಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಕಡಿವಾಣವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಾಕಿ, ನೀನು ಬಂದು ದಾರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವೆನು ಎಂಬದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿ ದ್ದಾನೆ.
Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into mine ears, therefore will I put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
ಈ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ಬೆಳೆದದ್ದನ್ನು ಎರಡನೇ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಆದರಿಂದ ಮೊಳೆತದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವಿರಿ. ಮೂರನೇ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ಬೀಜವನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತಿ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವಿರಿ; ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ತೋಟವನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು ಅವುಗಳ ಫಲವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವದೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಗುರುತಾಗಿ ರುವದು.
And this [shall be] a sign unto thee, Ye shall eat [this] year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.
ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮನೆತನದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಉಳಿದವರು ತಿರುಗಿ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬೇರೂರಿ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಫಲಫಲಿಸುವರು.
And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:
ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಉಳಿದ ವರು ಮತ್ತು ಚೀಯೋನ್‌ ಪರ್ವತದಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡವರು; ಹೊರಡುವರು ಇದನ್ನು ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯು ಮಾಡುವದು.
For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape out of mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ದೇನಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲಾರನು ಬಾಣವನ್ನು ಎಸೆಯನು, ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಅದರ ಮುಂದೆ ಗುರಾಣಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬರಲಾರನು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ದಿಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a bank against it.
ಅವನು ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವನು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ನನಗಾಗಿಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡು ವೆನು ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
For I will defend this city to save it for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನ ದೂತನು ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷದ ಎಂಭತ್ತೈದು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಇನ್ನೂ ಮೊಬ್ಬಿರು ವಾಗಲೇ ಎದ್ದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅವರು ಸತ್ತ ಹೆಣಗಳಾ ಗಿದ್ದರು.
Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they [were] all dead corpses.
ಆಗ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ನಿನವೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿ ದನು.ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ನಿಸ್ರೋಕನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅದ್ರಮ್ಮೆ ಲೆಕ್‌, ಸರೆಚೆರ್‌ ಎಂಬ ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಅರರಾಟ್‌ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಸರ್‌ಹದ್ದೋನನು ಆಳಿದನು.
So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ನಿಸ್ರೋಕನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅದ್ರಮ್ಮೆ ಲೆಕ್‌, ಸರೆಚೆರ್‌ ಎಂಬ ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದು ಅರರಾಟ್‌ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು; ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಸರ್‌ಹದ್ದೋನನು ಆಳಿದನು.
And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esar-haddon his son reigned in his stead.
