ആരോഹണഗീതം. എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയിൽ ഞാൻ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അവൻ എനിക്കു ഉത്തരം അരുളുകയും ചെയ്തു.
A Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.
യഹോവേ, വ്യാജമുള്ള അധരങ്ങളെയും വഞ്ചനയുള്ള നാവിനെയും തടുത്തു എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കേണമേ.
Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, [and] from a deceitful tongue.
വഞ്ചനയുള്ള നാവേ, നിനക്കു എന്തു വരും? നിനക്കു ഇനി എന്തു കിട്ടും?
What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
വീരന്റെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ള അസ്ത്രങ്ങളും പൂവത്തിൻ കനലും തന്നേ.
Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.
ഞാൻ മേശെക്കിൽ പ്രവാസം ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും കേദാർകൂടാരങ്ങളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടും എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!
Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, [that] I dwell in the tents of Kedar!
സമാധാനദ്വേഷിയോടുകൂടെ പാർക്കുന്നതു എനിക്കു മതിമതിയായി.
My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
ഞാൻ സമാധാനപ്രിയനാകുന്നു; ഞാൻ സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോഴോ അവർ കലശൽ തുടങ്ങുന്നു.
I [am for] peace: but when I speak, they [are] for war.
