அதனால் யோராம் தன் எல்லா தேர்களோடும் சாயீருக்குப் போனான். ஆனால் ஏதோமியர் அவனையும், அவனுடைய தேர்ப்படைத் தளபதிகளையும் சுற்றி வளைத்துக்கொண்டனர். ஆயினும் அவன் இரவோடு இரவாக ஏதோமியரை முறியடித்து, அவர்களிடமிருந்து தப்பி ஓடினான். அவனுடைய இராணுவவீரரோ தங்கள் வீடுகளுக்கு ஓடிவிட்டனர்.

So Joram went over to Zair, and all the chariots with him: and he rose by night, and smote the Edomites which compassed him about, and the captains of the chariots: and the people fled into their tents.
