ஆயினும், மொர்தெகாய் எந்த நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்தவனென்று அறிந்ததினால் அவனை மட்டும் கொல்ல அவன் விரும்பவில்லை. அதற்குப் பதிலாக அகாஸ்வேருவின் அரசு முழுவதும் இருந்த மொர்தெகாயின் மக்களான எல்லா யூதர்களையும் அழிப்பதற்கே ஆமான் வழிதேடினான்.

And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that [were] throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, [even] the people of Mordecai.

4. 7ராஜாவாகிய அகாஸ்வேருவின் பன்னிரண்டாம் வருஷம் நிசான் மாதமாகிய முதலாம் மாதத்திலே ஆமானுக்கு முன்பாகப் பூர் என்னப்பட்ட சீட்டு ஒவ்வொரு நாளையும் ஒவ்வொருமாதத்தையும் குறித்துப் போடப்பட்டு, ஆதார்மாதமான பன்னிரண்டாம் மாதத்தின்மேல் விழுந்தது.
5. 8அப்பொழுது ஆமான் அகாஸ்வேரு ராஜாவை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய ராஜ்யத்தின் சகல நாடுகளிலுமுள்ள ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளே ஒருவித ஜனங்கள் சிதறுண்டுபரம்பியிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய வழக்கங்கள் சகல ஜனங்களுடைய வழக்கங்களுக்கும் விகற்பமாயிருக்கிறது; அவர்கள் ராஜாவின் சட்டங்களைக் கைக் கொள்ளுகிறதில்லை; ஆகையால் அவர்களை இப்படி விட்டிருக்கிறது ராஜாவுக்கு நியாயமல்ல.
