2. 5நிலத்தினுடைய சகலவிதச் செடிகளும் பூமியின்மேல் இன்னும் உண்டாகவில்லை, நிலத்தினுடைய சகலவிதப் பூண்டுகளும் இன்னும் முளைக்கவில்லை; ஏனெனில் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் பூமியின்மேல் இன்னும் மழையைப் பெய்யப்பண்ணவில்லை; நிலத்தைப் பண்படுத்த மனுஷனும் இருந்ததில்லை.
3. 6அப்பொழுது மூடுபனி பூமியிலிருந்து எழும்பி, பூமியையெல்லாம் நனைத்தது.
4. 7தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மனுஷனைப் பூமியின் மண்ணினாலே உருவாக்கி, ஜீவசுவாசத்தை அவன் நாசியிலே ஊதினார், மனுஷன் ஜீவாத்துமாவானான்.
5. 8தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் கிழக்கே ஏதேன் என்னும் ஒரு தோட்டத்தை உண்டாக்கி, தாம் உருவாக்கின மனுஷனை அதிலே வைத்தார்.
