அப்பொழுது பென்யமீன் மக்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுக்கு எதிராகப் புறப்பட்டுப் பட்டணத்தை விட்டு, கடந்து வந்து, வெளியிலே பெத்தேலுக்கும் கிபியாவுக்கும் போகிற இரண்டு வழிகளில் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களில் ஏறக்குறைய 30 பேரை, முதல் இரண்டுதரம் செய்ததுபோல, வெட்டவும் கொல்லவும் தொடங்கினார்கள்.

பென்யமீனியர் அவர்களை எதிர்கொள்ள தங்கள் பட்டணத்தைவிட்டு வெளியே வந்தனர். அவர்கள் பட்டணத்திற்கும் அப்பாலே போய் இஸ்ரயேலரைத் தாக்கி முன்புபோலவே அவர்களைக் கொன்றார்கள். இதனால் கிட்டத்தட்ட முப்பது மனிதர்கள் வயல்வெளிகளிலும், பெத்தேலுக்கும், கிபியாவுக்கும் போகும் பாதையிலும் விழுந்தனர்.

பென்யமீன் சேனை இஸ்ரவேல் சேனையோடு போர் செய்வதற்காக கிபியா நகரை விட்டு வெளியே வந்தது இஸ்ரவேல் சேனை பின்னிட்டுத் தங்களைப் பென்யமீன் சேனை துரத்தும்படி செய்தது. இவ்வாறாக நகரை விட்டு சேனை வெகு தூரம் வரும்படியாக பென்யமீன் சேனைக்கு எதிராக தந்திரம் செய்யப்பட்டது. ஏற்கெனவே செய்தது போன்று பென்யமீன் சேனை இஸ்ரவேல் சேனையில் சில மனிதர்களைக் கொல்ல ஆரம்பித்தனர். சுமார் 30 இஸ்ரவேல் மனிதர்களை அவர்கள் கொன்றனர். வயல்களில் சிலரையும், பாதைகளில் சிலரையும் கொன்றனர். ஒரு பாதை பெத்தேல் நகரத்திற்கும் மற்றொருபாதை கிபியாவிற்கும் சென்றது.

4. 32முன்போல நமக்கு முன்பாக முறிய அடிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள் என்று பென்யமீன் புத்திரர் சொன்னார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரோ: அவர்களைப் பட்டணத்தை விட்டு அப்பாலேயிருக்கிற வழிகளிலே வரப்பண்ணும்படிக்கு, நாம் ஓடவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லியிருந்தார்கள்.
