इस्राएल के राजा योआश ने यहूदा के राजा अमस्याह के पास यों कहला भेजा, कि लबानोन पर की एक झड़बेरी ने लबानोन के एक देवदार के पास कहला भेजा, कि अपनी बेटी मेरे बेटे को ब्याह दे; इतने में लबानोन का कोई वन पशु पास से चला गया और उस झड़बेरी को दौंद डाला।
Israael ke raajaa yoaash ne yahoodaa ke raajaa amasyaah ke paas yom kahalaa bhejaa, ki labaanon par kee ek jhadaberee ne labaanon ke ek devadaar ke paas kahalaa bhejaa, ki apanee betee mere bete ko byaah de; itane mem labaanon kaa koee van pashu paas se chalaa gayaa aur us jhadaberee ko daund daalaa.

- 19तू कहता है, कि मैं ने एदोमियों को जीत लिया है; इस कारण तू फूल उठा और बड़ाई मारता है! अपने घर में रह जा; तू अपनी हानि के लिये यहां क्यों हाथ डालता है, इस से तू क्या, वरन यहूदा भी नीचा खाएगा।
- 20परन्तु अमस्याह ने न माना। यह तो परमेश्वर की ओर से हुआ, कि वह उन्हें उनके शत्रुओं के हाथ कर दे, क्योंकि वे एदोम के देवताओं की खोज में लग गए थे।
