ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾ ವಿಾನ್‌ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಹೋಗದೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಲಿ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.

21ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ತರು ವಾಯ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮ ನಿಗೆ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಬೆನ್ಯಾ ವಿಾನನ ಗೋತ್ರದ ಸಂಗಡ ಯೆಹೂದನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮನೆಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡತಕ್ಕವರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಆದು ಕೊಳ್ಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಲಕ್ಷದ ಎಂಭತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿ ಸಿದನು.
22ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ನಾಗಿರುವ ಶೆಮಾಯನಿಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು; ಏನಂದರೆ
23ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಬೆನ್ಯಾ ವಿಾನ್‌ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೂ ಮಿಕ್ಕಾದ ಜನರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನೀವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಲು ಹೋಗದೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಲಿ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತೆಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಅಂದನು.
24ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಕರ್ತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಆ ವಾಕ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಹೋದರು.
25ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಎಫ್ರಾಯಾಮನ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಶೆಕೆಮನನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಪೆನೂವೇಲನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿದನು.
