ಅವರು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ರಕ್ತವು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೋರುವ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಕತ್ತಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಚೂರಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡರು.

- 26ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಹೋರಿ ಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ--ಓ ಬಾಳನೇ, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೇಳೆಂದು ಉದಯದಿಂದ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಬಾಳನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಒಂದು ಶಬ್ದವಾಗಲಿ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುವವನಾಗಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಮಾಡಿದ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಕುಣಿದಾಡಿದರು.
- 27ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲೀಯನು ಅವ ರನ್ನು ಗೇಲಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿರಿ, ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನು.; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವನು ನಿದ್ರೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನು; ಈಗ ಅವನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು.
- 28ಅವರು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಬ್ದದಿಂದ ಕೂಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಕ್ರಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ರಕ್ತವು ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೋರುವ ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೂ ಕತ್ತಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಚೂರಿಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡರು.
- 29ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನವಾದ ತರುವಾಯ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ವೇಳೆಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಶಬ್ದವಾ ದರೂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರಕೊಡುವವನಾದರೂ ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವವ ನಾದರೂ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
- 30ಆಗ ಎಲೀಯನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ಅಂದನು; ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕರ್ತನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಅವನು ದುರಸ್ತು ಮಾಡಿದನು.
