ಆಗ ಅವನು ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುವ ಬೂದಿಯನ್ನು ಒರಸಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಅವನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೆಂದು ತಿಳು ಕೊಂಡನು.

- 39ಅರ ಸನು ಹಾದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಇವನು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತೊಲಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು--ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕಾಯಿ; ಇವನು ಹೇಗಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬದ ಲಾಗಿರುವುದು; ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನೀನು ಒಂದು ತಲಾಂತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು.
- 40ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅವನು ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದನು ಅಂದನು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರ ಸನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆಗು ವದು; ನೀನೇ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 41ಆಗ ಅವನು ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುವ ಬೂದಿಯನ್ನು ಒರಸಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಅವನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನೆಂದು ತಿಳು ಕೊಂಡನು.
- 42ಇವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವ ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಾನು ಪೂರ್ಣನಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಮನು ಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಗೊಡಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವೂ ಅವನ ಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನವೂ ಹೋಗುವದು ಅಂದನು.ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ವ್ಯಸನ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಕೋಪದಿಂದಲೂ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದನು.
- 43ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ವ್ಯಸನ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಕೋಪದಿಂದಲೂ ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದನು.
