1. 3ನಿನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯರಾದ ವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನ್ನವರೆಂದು ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ನೆಂಬದಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
2. 4ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಪ್ರತ್ತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆ ಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾತಿನ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನವನು; ನನ್ನದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿನ್ನದು ಅಂದನು.
3. 5ಆ ದೂತರು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ಬೆನ್ಹದದನು ಹೇಳುವ ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರನ್ನೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ನನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದೆನು.
4. 6ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನಾಳೆ ಇಷ್ಟು ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು; ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಶೋಧಿಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ರಮ್ಯ ವಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವರು ಅಂದನು.
5. 7ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ದೇಶದ ಹಿರಿಯರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆಇವನು ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ತಿಳುಕೊಂಡು ನೋಡಿರಿ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಗೋ ಸ್ಕರವೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಂಗಾರಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರವೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ನಾನು ಕೊಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
