Now therefore command thou that they hew me cedar trees out of Lebanon; and my servants shall be with thy servants: and unto thee will I give hire for thy servants according to all that thou shalt appoint: for thou knowest that [there is] not among us any that can skill to hew timber like unto the Sidonians.

2. 5ಆದದರಿಂದ ಇಗೋ, ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅದರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ--ನಿನಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಾನು ಇರಿಸುವ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಸುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನಲ್ಲವೇ.
3. 6ಆದದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ನನ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಲೆಬನೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವದಾರು ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿಯಲು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸು. ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರೂ ಕೂಡ ಇರಲಿ. ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೂಲಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡು ತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಚೀದೋನ್ಯರ ಹಾಗೆ ಮರವನ್ನು ಕಡಿಯಲು ತಿಳಿದವರಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನೀನು ಬಲ್ಲೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
4. 7ಹೀರಾಮನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಾತು ಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಬಹು ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟು--ಈ ಮಹಾ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವುಳ್ಳ ಮಗನನ್ನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಕರ್ತನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಲ್ಪಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
5. 8ಹೀರಾಮನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ--ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿ ದ್ದೇನೆ. ದೇವದಾರು ಮರಗಳ ವಿಷಯವೂ ತುರಾಯಿ ಮರಗಳ ವಿಷಯವೂ ನೀನು ಇಚ್ಚೈಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾನು ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
