ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿರ್ರಿ. ಯಾರಾದರೂ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರ ನಡತೆಯಿಂದ ವಾಕ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಗೆಲ್ಲುವಂತೆ
Likewise, ye wives, [be] in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿರ್ಮಲವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಭಯಭರಿತವಾದ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರು ನೋಡಲಿ.
While they behold your chaste conversation [coupled] with fear.
ಜಡೆ ಹೆಣೆದುಕೊ ಳ್ಳುವದೂ ಚಿನ್ನದ ಒಡವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವದೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಉಡಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದೂ ಈ ಹೊರ ಗಣ ಅಲಂಕಾರವು ಬೇಡ.
Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
ಆದರೆ ಸಾತ್ವಿಕವಾದ ಶಾಂತ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಎಂಬ ಹೃದಯದ ಮರೆಯಾದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಅಲಂಕಾರವೇ ನಿಮಗಿರಲಿ. ಇದು ಅಕ್ಷಯ ವಾಗಿದ್ದು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಬೆಲೆಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ.
But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಸಹ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಲಂಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು; ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡಂ ದಿರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸಾರಳು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೆ ವಿಧೇಯಳಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಜಮಾನ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದಳು. ನೀವು ಸಾರಳ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲಾ; ನೀವು ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವದಾದರೆ ಯಾವ ಭೀತಿಗೂ ಗಾಬರಿ ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement.
ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಾಗಿ ಪುರಷರೇ, ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಬಲಹೀನ ಳೆಂಬದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ವಿವೇಕದಿಂದ ಇರ್ರಿ. ಅವರು ಜೀವದ ಕೃಪೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮಾನವನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿರಿ. ಹೀಗೆ ನಡೆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಿರುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
ಕಡೆಗೆ ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಏಕ ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಕರುಣೆಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸಹೋದರ ರಂತೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿರಿ; ಕನಿಕರವೂ ದೀನ ಭಾವವೂ ಉಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರ್ರಿ.
Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
ಅಪಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಕಾರವನ್ನೂ ನಿಂದೆಗೆ ನಿಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿರಿ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರೆದನಲ್ಲಾ; ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವವರಾದ ನೀವು ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವನ್ನು ಬಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೊಂದುವಿ ರೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ.
Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಸುದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಷ್ಟವುಳ್ಳವನು ಕೆಟ್ಟ ದ್ದನ್ನು ನುಡಿಯದಂತೆ ತನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ವಂಚನೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನಾಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನ ತುಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಿಗಿ ಹಿಡಿಯಲಿ.
For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
ಅವನು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿ; ಸಮಾಧಾನವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪಡಲಿ.
Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿ ನೀತಿವಂತರ ಮೇಲಿದೆ. ಆತನು ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿ ಗೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಖವು ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿದೆ.
For the eyes of the Lord [are] over the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord [is] against them that do evil.
ನೀವು ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವವರು ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ?
And who [is] he that will harm you, if ye be followers of that which is good?
ನೀವು ನೀತಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೇ ಬಾಧೆಪಟ್ಟರೆ ಸಂತೋಷವುಳ್ಳವರು. ಅವರ ಬೆದರಿಸುವಿಕೆಗೆ ಹೆದರಬೇಡಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಳವಳ ಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ.
But and if ye suffer for righteousness’ sake, happy [are ye]: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
ಆದರೆ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆಪಡಿಸಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಆಧಾರವೇನೆಂದು ಕೇಳುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಸಾತ್ವಿಕತ್ವ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಭಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿರ್ರಿ;
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
ಒಳ್ಳೇಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿರ್ರಿ; ಆಗ ನೀವು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವ ರೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ದೂರು ಹೇಳುವವರು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡುವವರು.
Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
ಕೆಟ್ಟ ನಡತೆಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿ ಬಾಧೆಪಡುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಒಳ್ಳೇನಡತೆಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿಯೇ ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತವಿದ್ದರೆ ಬಾಧೆಪಡುವದು ಲೇಸು.
For [it is] better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಸಹ ನೀತಿವಂತ ನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅನೀತಿವಂತರಾದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದೇವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತರುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪಾಪನಿವಾರಣೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಬಾಧೆಪಟ್ಟು ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಟ್ಟನು, ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಬದುಕುವವನಾದನು.
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
ಆತನು ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೇ ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಆತ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಸಾರಿದನು;
By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;
ಆದರೆ ನೋಹನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುತ್ತಿರಲು ದೇವರ ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತಿಯು ಒಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಕಾದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯರಾ ಗಿದ್ದವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಆತನು ಸಾರಿದನು. ಆ ನಾವೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಕೆಲವರು ಅಂದರೆ ಎಂಟೇ ಜನರು ನೀರಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದಿದರು.
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
ಆ ನೀರಿಗೆ ಅನುರೂಪವಾದ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮವು ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಈಗ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ; (ಅದು ಮೈಕೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿ ಸುವಂಥದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಒಳ್ಳೇ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿದೆ).ಆತನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವರ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ದೂತರೂ ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ಗಳೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಗಳೂ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
The like figure whereunto [even] baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
ಆತನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವರ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ದೂತರೂ ಪ್ರಭುತ್ವ ಗಳೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಗಳೂ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
