2. 23ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಳ ಗಂಡನಾದ ಎಲ್ಕಾನನು ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಳ್ಳೇದಾಗಿ ತೋರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡು. ಅವನು ಮೊಲೆ ಬಿಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿರು. ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಮಾಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅವಳು ಉಳಿದು ತನ್ನ ಮಗುವು ಮೊಲೆ ಬಿಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮೊಲೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
3. 24ಅವಳು ಮೊಲೆ ಬಿಡಿಸಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮೂರು ಹೋರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ಎಫದ ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ಬುದ್ದಲಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಶೀಲೋವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದಳು.
4. 25ಆಗ ಆ ಮಗುವು ಚಿಕ್ಕದಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅವರು ಒಂದು ಹೋರಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದ ತರುವಾಯ ಮಗುವನ್ನು ಏಲಿಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದರು.
5. 26ಅವಳು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣದ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ, ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ನಾನೇ. ಈ ಮಗುವಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆನು.
