1. 18ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಬೇತ್‌ಹೋರೋನಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗ ವಾಗಿ ಹೋಯಿತು; ಬೇರೊಂದು ಗುಂಪು ಅರಣ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಜೆಬೋಯಾಮ್‌ ತಗ್ಗಿಗೆದುರಾದ ಮೇರೆಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋಯಿತು.
2. 19ಆದರೆ ಇಬ್ರಿಯರು ತಮಗೆ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನಾ ದರೂ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಮ್ಮಾರನಾದರೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲ.
3. 20ಆದದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ನೇಗಲಿನ ಗುಳಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಲಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗುದ್ದಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮೊನೆ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾ ಗಿತ್ತು.
4. 21ಆದರೆ ಗುದ್ದಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗುಂಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಗುಶಿಮೊಳೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಂಕುಶಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹದಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅರವು ಮಾತ್ರ ಇತ್ತು.
5. 22ಯುದ್ಧದ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಲನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯೋನಾ ತಾನನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಾದರೂ ಈಟಿಯಾದರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಇತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಸೌಲನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಕುಮಾರನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನ ನಿಗೂ ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಇತ್ತು.ಆಗ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದಂಡು ಮಿಕ್ಮಾಷಿನ ಕಣಿವೆಯ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟಿತು.
