ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ ಪ್ರತಿ ವರುಷದಲ್ಲೂ ವರುಷದ ಬಲಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲು ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬರುವಾಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತಿದ್ದಳು.

- 20ಆಗ ಏಲಿಯು ಎಲ್ಕಾನನನ್ನೂ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಯನ್ನೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿ--ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಕರ್ತನು ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಂತಾನವನ್ನು ದಯ ಪಾಲಿಸಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 21ಅವರು ತಿರಿಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದರು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕರ್ತನು ಹನ್ನಳನ್ನು ದರ್ಶಿಸಿ ದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವಳು ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿ ಮೂವರು ಕುಮಾರ ರನ್ನೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರನ್ನೂ ಹೆತ್ತಳು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಾಲಕನಾದ ಸಮುವೇಲನು ಕರ್ತನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
