ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಬಾಲನಿಗೆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದ ಅಮಲು ಇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತು ಅವನು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಾಗಾದನು.

- 36ತರುವಾಯ ಅಬೀಗೈಲಳು ನಾಬಾಲನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅರಸನ ಔತಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮಾನವಾದ ಔತಣ ಅವನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು. ಅವನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕುಡಿದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸ ಗೊಂಡಿತ್ತು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅವಳು ಉದಯವಾಗುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾದದ್ದ ನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
- 37ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಬಾಲನಿಗೆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದ ಅಮಲು ಇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲು ಏನಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಅವನ ಹೃದಯವು ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತು ಅವನು ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಹಾಗಾದನು.

- 39ನಾಬಾಲನು ಸತ್ತನೆಂದು ದಾವೀದನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ನನ್ನ ನಿಂದೆಯ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಾಬಾಲನಿಂದ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕ ನನ್ನು ಕೇಡುಮಾಡಗೊಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಟಂಕಿಸಿದ ಕರ್ತನು ಸ್ತುತಿ ಹೊಂದಲಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ನಾಬಾಲನ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದನು ಅಂದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಅಬೀಗೈಲ ಳನ್ನು ತನಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ತಕ್ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
