3. 17ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವರ್ತಮಾನ ತಂದವನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಹಾರ ವಾಯಿತು; ನಿನ್ನ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಹೊಫ್ನಿಯೂ ಫೀನೆಹಾಸನೂ ಸತ್ತರು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂ ಷವು ಶತ್ರುವಶವಾಯಿತು ಅಂದನು.
4. 18ಅವನು ದೇವರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಮಂಜೂಷದ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಏಲಿಯು ಆಸನದ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಗಲಿನ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಮುರಿದು ಸತ್ತನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಮುದುಕನಾಗಿಯೂ ಭಾರವುಳ್ಳ ವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ವರುಷ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸಿದನು.
5. 19ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನ ಸೊಸೆಯಾದ ಫೀನೆಹಾಸನ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಹೆರುವದಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಳು. ಅವಳು ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಶತ್ರುವಶವಾಯಿತೆಂಬ ವರ್ತ ಮಾನವನ್ನೂ ತನ್ನ ಮಾವನೂ ಗಂಡನೂ ಸತ್ತು ಹೋದರೆಂಬದನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಸವ ವೇದನೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಅವಳು ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು.
