1. 30ಆದರೆ ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ರಥಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಳ್ಳವರಿಗೆನೀವು ಹಿರಿಕಿರಿಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡದೆ ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಸಂಗಡವೇ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
2. 31ಆದದರಿಂದ ರಥಗಳ ಅಧಿಪತಿ ಗಳು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ--ನಿಶ್ಚ ಯವಾಗಿ ಇವನೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕರ್ತನು ಅವ ನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಿಸಿದನು.
3. 32ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾ ಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ರಥಗಳ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡರು.
4. 33ಆದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಗುರಿಯಿಡದೆ ಬಿಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಾಣ ವನ್ನೇರಿಸಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕವಚದ ಸಂದು ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸಾರಥಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸೈನ್ಯದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಆಚೇಕಡೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು; ನಾನು ಗಾಯಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.ಆ ದಿನ ಯುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಬಲವಾದದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರ ಸನು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ರಥದಲ್ಲೇ ಆತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಅಸ್ತಮಿಸಿ ದಾಗ ಸತ್ತನು.
5. 34ಆ ದಿನ ಯುದ್ಧ ಪ್ರಬಲವಾದದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರ ಸನು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದ ವರೆಗೂ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ರಥದಲ್ಲೇ ಆತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಅಸ್ತಮಿಸಿ ದಾಗ ಸತ್ತನು.
