ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂದಿರದ ಕದ ಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ತಾನು ಹೊದಿಸಿದ್ದ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸ ನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

- 15ಆದದರಿಂದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯ ಬೊಕ್ಕಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
- 16ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂದಿರದ ಕದ ಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ತಾನು ಹೊದಿಸಿದ್ದ ಬಂಗಾರವನ್ನು ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿ ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸ ನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
- 17ಅಶ್ಶೂರಿನ ಅರಸನು ಲಾಕೀಷಿನಿಂದ ತರ್ತಾನ ನನ್ನೂ ರಬ್ಸಾರೀಸನನ್ನೂ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದಂಡನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀ ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅರಸನ ಹೊಲದ ರಾಜ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೇಲಿನ ಕೆರೆಯ ಕಾಲುವೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತರು. ಅವರು ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕರೇ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
- 18ಆದರೆ ಮನೆವಾರ್ತೆಯವನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲ್ಯಾ ಕೀಮನೂ ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶೆಬ್ನನೂ ಸಂಪ್ರತಿಯವನಾದ ಆಸಾಫನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವನೂ ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.
