ಆಗ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರರು ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದಕಾರಣ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಸತ್ತರು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವ ಕನಾದ ಊರೀಯನೆಂಬ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನೂ ಸತ್ತನು ಅಂದನು.
Aaga billugaararu godeya melininda ninna sevakara mele baanagalannu esedakaarana arasana sevakaralli kelavaru sattaru; idallade ninna seva kanaada ooreeyanemba hittiyanoo sattanu andanu.

- 24ಆಗ ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರರು ಗೋಡೆಯ ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದಕಾರಣ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರು ಸತ್ತರು; ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವ ಕನಾದ ಊರೀಯನೆಂಬ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನೂ ಸತ್ತನು ಅಂದನು.
- 25ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ದೂತನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಿನಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಗೆ ಯಿಲ್ಲದ್ದಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಬಾರದು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ಇವನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸರಿ ಅವನನ್ನಾದರೂ ಸರಿ ತಿಂದು ಬಿಡುವದು. ನೀನು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಬಲವಾಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸು ಅಂದನು.
- 26ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಾದ ಊರೀಯನು ಸತ್ತನೆಂದು ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಗಂಡನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡಿದಳು.ದುಃಖದ ದಿವ ಸಗಳು ತೀರಿದ ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕರೇಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಅವಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು; ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವು ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು.
