ಆಗ ಅಮ್ನೋನನು--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಿನ್ನುವಂತೆ ಆ ಭಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಠಡಿ ಯೊಳಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತಾಮಾರಳು ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಭಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಠಡಿ ಯೊಳಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಮ್ನೋನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಳು.

King James Version (KJV): And Amnon said unto Tamar, Bring the meat into the chamber, that I may eat of thine hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought [them] into the chamber to Amnon her brother.

8ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಮ್ನೋನನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದಳು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಮಲಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವಳು ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಂದೆ ಹಿಸಿಕಿ ನಾದಿ ಭಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಪಾತ್ರೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಟ್ಟಳು.
9ಆದರೆ ಅಮ್ನೋನನು--ನಾನು ಉಣ್ಣುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಿರಿ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
10ಆಗ ಅಮ್ನೋನನು--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತಿನ್ನುವಂತೆ ಆ ಭಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಠಡಿ ಯೊಳಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ ಅಂದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತಾಮಾರಳು ತಾನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಭಕ್ಷ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಠಡಿ ಯೊಳಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಅಮ್ನೋನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಳು.
11ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉಣ್ಣುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವಳು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದಾಗ ಅವನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋ ದರಿಯೇ, ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗು; ಬಾ ಅಂದನು.
12ಅದಕ್ಕವಳು--ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನೇ, ಬೇಡ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಾಯಮಾಡಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಮಾಡಕೂಡದು; ಇಂಥಾ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನ ವಾದ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ.
