ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾ ಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಡೆದು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ? ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಶೇಕೆಲ್‌ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ನಡು ಕಟ್ಟನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
Adakke yovaa banu avanige--igo, neenu nodi avanannu yaake alli nelakke hodedu bidalilla? Naanu ninage hattu shekel belliyannoo ondu nadu kattannoo koduttiddenu andanu.

- 9ಆಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿದ್ದನು. ಆ ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯು ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಏಲಾ ಮರದ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯು ಆ ಮರದ ಕೊಂಬೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಯಿತು.
- 10ಆಗ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಬಂದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಏರಿದ್ದನು. ಆ ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯು ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಏಲಾ ಮರದ ಬಲವಾದ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನ ತಲೆಯು ಆ ಮರದ ಕೊಂಬೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಆದದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಹೇಸರ ಕತ್ತೆಯು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಯಿತು.
- 11ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋವಾ ಬನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ನೀನು ನೋಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಡೆದು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ? ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹತ್ತು ಶೇಕೆಲ್‌ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನೂ ಒಂದು ನಡು ಕಟ್ಟನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು ಅಂದನು.
- 12ಆದರೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯೋವಾಬನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವಿರ ಶೆಕೇಲ್‌ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೂ ನಾನು ಅರಸನ ಮಗನ ಮೇಲೆ ನನ್ನ ಕೈ ಚಾಚುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಯಾಕಂದರೆಯೌವನಸ್ಥನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಮುಟ್ಟದ ಹಾಗೆ ಜಾಗ್ರತೆಯಾಗಿರ್ರಿ ಎಂದು ಅರಸನು ನಿನಗೂ ಅಬೀಷೈನಿಗೂ ಇತ್ತೈಗೂ ನಮಗೆ ಕೇಳಿಸು ವಂತೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
- 13ಹಾಗಿರುವಾಗ ನಾನೇ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮೋಸ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡೆನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಯಾವ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾದರೂ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ; ನೀನೇ ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವಿ ಅಂದನು.
