ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಈಗ ನೀರಿನ ಬಾವಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯು ನೀರು ತರಲು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಆಕೆಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊಡದಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನೀರು ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವಾಗ

43ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಈಗ ನೀರಿನ ಬಾವಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಹೀಗಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯು ನೀರು ತರಲು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಆಕೆಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊಡದಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನೀರು ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವಾಗ
44ಆಕೆಯು ನನಗೆ--ನೀನು ಕುಡಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಒಂಟೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಕೊಡುವೆನು ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವಳೋ ಆಕೆಯೇ ಕರ್ತನಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಮಗನಿಗೆ ನೇಮಕವಾದ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾ ಗಿರಲಿ ಎಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡೆನು.
45ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಮುಗಿಸುವದರೊಳಗಾಗಿ ಇಗೋ, ರೆಬೆಕ್ಕಳು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಗಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೊಡವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಳು. ಆಕೆಯು ಬಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದು ನೀರನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ತಂದಾಗ ನಾನು--ನನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀರು ಕೊಡು ಎಂದು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೆನು.
