2. 8ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದನು ಓನಾನನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡು ಅಂದನು.
3. 9ಆದರೆ ಓನಾನನು ಆ ಸಂತತಿಯು ತನ್ನದಾಗತಕ್ಕದ್ದಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನಿಗೆ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ತನ್ನ ವೀರ್ಯ ವನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಚೆಲ್ಲಿದನು.
4. 10ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಕರ್ತನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರಲಿ ಲ್ಲವಾದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಇವನನ್ನೂ ಸಾಯಿಸಿದನು.
5. 11ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದನು ತನ್ನ ಸೊಸೆಯಾದ ತಾಮಾರ ಳಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಶೇಲಹನು ದೊಡ್ಡವನಾಗುವ ವರೆಗೆ ವಿಧವೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರು ಅಂದನು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇವನು ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರ ಹಾಗೆ ಸತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು. ತಾಮಾರಳು ಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದಳು.
