ಆದರೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ತಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಬಂಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಉಜ್ಜೀ ವಿಸಿತು.ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಜೀವದಿಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅದು ಸಾಕು; ನಾನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.

26ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅವನೇ ಐಗುಪ್ತದೇಶವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆಳುತಿದ್ದಾ ನೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವನು ನಂಬದೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಹೃದಯವು ಕುಂದಿಹೋಯಿತು.
27ಆದರೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ತಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಬಂಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಅವರ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಉಜ್ಜೀ ವಿಸಿತು.ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನು--ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಜೀವದಿಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅದು ಸಾಕು; ನಾನು ಸಾಯುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
