ಅವ ನಿಗಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಿಸುವ ದಿನಗಳು ಮುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಫರೋಹನ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೃಪೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಫರೋಹನ ಕಿವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮಾತು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು.

2ಯೋಸೇಫನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಸುಗಂಧ ದ್ರವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಬೇಕೆಂದು ತನ್ನ ದಾಸರಾದ ವೈದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡಲು ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲನಿಗೆ ಸುಗಂಧ ದ್ರವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿದರು.
3ನಾಲ್ವತ್ತು ದಿವಸಗಳು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾದವು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಸುಗಂಧ ದ್ರವ್ಯವನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ದಿನಗಳು ಹೀಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಬೇಕು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರು ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ದಿವಸ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟರು.
4ಅವ ನಿಗಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಿಸುವ ದಿನಗಳು ಮುಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಫರೋಹನ ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೃಪೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರೆ ಫರೋಹನ ಕಿವಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಮಾತು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು.
5ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ನನಗೆ ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಸಾಯುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಕಾನಾನ್‌ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಅಗೆದ ನನ್ನ ಸಮಾಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಹೀಗಿ ರುವದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿಟ್ಟು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು ಅಂದನು.
6ಆಗ ಫರೋಹನು--ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನೀನು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಹೂಣಿಡು ಅಂದನು.
