ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಹಬಕ್ಕೂಕನು ನೋಡಿದ ದೈವೋಕ್ತಿ.
The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did see.
ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟರೂ ಎಷ್ಟರ ವರೆಗೆ ನೀನು ಕೇಳದೇ ಇರುವಿ? ಹಿಂಸೆ ಹಿಂಸೆ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೂಗುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ.
O LORD, how long shall I cry, and thou wilt not hear! [even] cry out unto thee [of] violence, and thou wilt not save!
ಯಾಕೆ ನನಗೆ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ನೋಡಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ? ಸೂರೆಯೂ ಹಿಂಸೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅವೆ; ಜಗಳವನ್ನೂ ತರ್ಕವನ್ನೂ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುವವರು ಇದ್ದಾರೆ.
Why dost thou shew me iniquity, and cause [me] to behold grievance? for spoiling and violence [are] before me: and there are [that] raise up strife and contention.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಸಡಿಲವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಹೊರಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ದುಷ್ಟರು ನೀತಿ ವಂತರನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಿ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಹೊರಡುತ್ತದೆ.
Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಗೊಟ್ಟು ಬಹಳ ವಾಗಿ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಡಿರಿ; ತಿಳಿಸಿದರೂ ನೀವು ನಂಬದಂಥ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvellously: for [I] will work a work in your days, [which] ye will not believe, though it be told [you].
ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಕಸ್ದೀಯರನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಅದು ಕಹಿಯಾದ ತೀವ್ರವಾದ ಜನಾಂಗವು; ತಮ್ಮದಲ್ಲದ ನಿವಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ವಶಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಶಾಲ ವಾದ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದುಹೋಗುವದು.
For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, [that] bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces [that are] not theirs.
ಅವರು ಭಯಂಕರವಾದವರು ಮತ್ತು ಕ್ರೂರವಾದವರು; ಅವರ ನ್ಯಾಯವೂ ಘನತೆಯೂ ಅವರಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರಡುತ್ತವೆ.
They [are] terrible and dreadful: their judgment and their dignity shall proceed of themselves.
ಅವರ ಕುದುರೆಗಳು ಸಹ ಚಿರತೆಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ವೇಗ ವಾಗಿಯೂ ಸಂಜೆಯ ತೋಳಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಚುರುಕಾ ಗಿಯೂ ಅವೆ; ಅವರ ಕುದುರೆ ಸವಾರರು ತಾವೇ ಹರಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು; ಅವರ ಸವಾರರು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಬರುವರು; ತಿನ್ನುವದಕ್ಕೆ ತ್ವರೆಪಡುವ ಹದ್ದಿನಂತೆ ಹಾರಿಬರುವರು.
Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle [that] hasteth to eat.
ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಹಿಂಸಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವರು; ಅವರ ಮುಖಗಳು ಮೂಡಣ ಗಾಳಿ ಯಂತೆಯೇ ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವವು; ಸೆರೆಯವರನ್ನು ಮರ ಳಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಕೂಡಿಸುವರು.
They shall come all for violence: their faces shall sup up [as] the east wind, and they shall gather the captivity as the sand.
ಅವರು ಅರಸರನ್ನು ಧಿಕ್ಕರಿಸುವರು; ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವರು. ಕೋಟೆಗಳಿಗೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಚೋದ್ಯ ಮಾಡು ವರು. ಮಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಕುಪ್ಪೆಮಾಡಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವರು.
And they shall scoff at the kings, and the princes shall be a scorn unto them: they shall deride every strong hold; for they shall heap dust, and take it.
ಆಗ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಬದಲು ಮಾಡಿ, ಹಾದುಹೋಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧಮಾಡುವರು; ಅವರ ದೇವರಿಂದಾಗುವ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಇದೆ ಅನ್ನುವರು.
Then shall [his] mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, [imputing] this his power unto his god.
ನನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನನ್ನ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧನೇ, ನೀನು ಅನಾದಿಯಿಂದ ಇರುತ್ತೀಯಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಾವು ಸಾಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ. ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪಿಗೆ ಅವ ರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದೀ; ಓ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಿಯಾದ ದೇವರೇ, ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದೀ.
[Art] thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.
ನೀನು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನೋಡಕೂಡದ ಹಾಗೆ ಶುದ್ಧ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳುಳ್ಳವನು; ನೀನು ಅನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಲಾರಿ; ವಂಚಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತೀ? ದುಷ್ಟನು ತನಗಿಂತ ನೀತಿವಂತ ನನ್ನು ನುಂಗಿಬಿಡುವ ವೇಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾಕೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿ ರುತ್ತೀ?
[Thou art] of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, [and] holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth [the man that is] more righteous than he?
ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ವಿಾನುಗ ಳಂತೆಯೂ ಆಳುವವನಿಲ್ಲದ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಗಳಂತೆಯೂ ಯಾಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀ?
And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, [that have] no ruler over them?
ಅವರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಗಾಳದಿಂದ ಎತ್ತಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಯಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ತಮ್ಮ ಜಾಲದಿಂದ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಆದದರಿಂದ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸಿ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸ ಪಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
They take up all of them with the angle, they catch them in their net, and gather them in their drag: therefore they rejoice and are glad.
ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಗೆ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಜಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಸುಡುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಇವುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರ ಪಾಲು ಕೊಬ್ಬಾಗಿಯೂ ಅವರ ಆಹಾರ ಪುಷ್ಟಿ ಯುಳ್ಳದ್ದಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದೆ.ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಯನ್ನು ಬರಿದುಮಾಡಿ ನಿತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಜನಾಂಗ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸದೆ ಸದಾ ಸಂಹರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕೋ?
Therefore they sacrifice unto their net, and burn incense unto their drag; because by them their portion [is] fat, and their meat plenteous.
ಹೀಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಯನ್ನು ಬರಿದುಮಾಡಿ ನಿತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಜನಾಂಗ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸದೆ ಸದಾ ಸಂಹರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕೋ?
Shall they therefore empty their net, and not spare continually to slay the nations?
