ಅದರ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಉಣ್ಣುವನು; ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟು ತೃಪ್ತಿಹೊಂದುವನು; ಹೌದು, ಅವನು ಚಳಿಕಾಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ--ಆಹಾ! ಬೆಂಕಿ ಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆ, ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಾಯಿತು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು;

Adara innondu bhaagadalli maansavannu unnuvanu; maansavannu suttu truptihonduvanu; haudu, avanu chalikaayisi kolluttaa--aahaa! Benki yannu kande, bechchagaayitu andukolluvanu;

King James Version (KJV): He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth [himself], and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:

16ಅದರ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಉಣ್ಣುವನು; ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಸುಟ್ಟು ತೃಪ್ತಿಹೊಂದುವನು; ಹೌದು, ಅವನು ಚಳಿಕಾಯಿಸಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ--ಆಹಾ! ಬೆಂಕಿ ಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆ, ಬೆಚ್ಚಗಾಯಿತು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು;
17ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ದೇವರನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ವಿಗ್ರಹವನ್ನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮಾಡಿ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ನಮಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ--ನೀನೇ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರು, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡು ಎಂದು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.
18ಅವರು ಏನೂ ತಿಳಿಯ ದವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಏನೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾರದವರು; ಆತನು ಅವರ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣದಂತೆಯೂ ಹೃದಯಗಳು ಗ್ರಹಿಸ ದಂತೆಯೂ ಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
