1. 13ಹೀಗೆ ಹಗ್ಗಗಳಿಂದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ಎಳೆದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುಣಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ಎತ್ತಿದರು; ಆಮೇಲೆ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯ ಅಂಗಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದನು.
2. 14ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮೂರನೇ ಪ್ರವೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕರಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು. ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಕೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನನಗೆ ಯಾವದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡಬೇಡ ಅಂದನು.
3. 15ಆಗ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ--ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕುವದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನೀನು ಕೇಳುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
4. 16ಹೀಗೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಯೆರೆ ವಿಾಯನಿಗೆ ಅಂತರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ --ನಮಗೆ ಈ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕರ್ತನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ; ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವ ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
5. 17ಆಗ ಯೆರೆವಿಾಯನು ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ನೀನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯ ವಾಗಿ ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಬದುಕುವದು. ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಡ ಲ್ಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಮತ್ತು ನೀನೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೂ ಬದುಕುವಿರಿ.
