ಅವನು ಬದುಕುವನು. ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಬಾಬೆಲ್‌ ಅರಸನ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದು; ಅದು ಅದನ್ನು ವಶಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದು.
Avanu badukuvanu. Kartanu heluvadenandare--ee pattanavu nishchayavaagi baabel arasana sainyada kaiyalli oppisalpaduvadu; adu adannu vashamaadi kolluvadu.

- 2ಕರ್ತನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ--ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವವನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ ಜಾಡ್ಯ ದಿಂದಲೂ ಸಾಯುವನು; ಆದರೆ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗುವವನು ಬದುಕುವನು; ಅವನ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯಾಗಿರುವದು;
- 3ಅವನು ಬದುಕುವನು. ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳುವದೇನಂದರೆ--ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಬಾಬೆಲ್‌ ಅರಸನ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದು; ಅದು ಅದನ್ನು ವಶಮಾಡಿ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವದು.
- 4ಆದದರಿಂದ ಆ ಪ್ರಧಾನರು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ --ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸಾಯಲಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇವನು ಇಂಥಾ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಆಡಿ ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲಹೀನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಜನರ ಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನಲ್ಲ ಅವರ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
- 5ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಇಗೋ, ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಅರಸನು ಏನು ಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲವ ನಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
