1. 3ಕರ್ತನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಿಂದ ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಡುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಬಾಬೆಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ತಿರುಗಿಬಿದ್ದನು.

5. 7ಆಗ ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ವಿಭಾಗವಾಯಿತು; ಯುದ್ಧಸ್ಥರೆಲ್ಲರು ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ, ಅರಸನ ತೋಟದ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಎರಡು ಗೋಡೆಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದ ಬಾಗಲಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಟು, ಬೈಲು ಸೀಮೆಯ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋದರು. ಆದರೆ ಕಸ್ದೀಯರು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಇದ್ದರು.
