ಯಾವನೂ ಯಾವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೂ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ತಂದೆಯ ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗ ನಾಗಿರುವಾತನು ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

Yaavanoo yaava kaaladalloo devarannu kandilla. Tandeya edeyalliruva aa obbane maga naagiruvaatanu aatanannu tiliyapadisiddaane.

16ಆತನ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣತೆಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೃಪೆಗಾಗಿ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆವು.
17ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ವಾಗಿ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು; ಆದರೆ ಕೃಪೆಯೂ ಸತ್ಯವೂ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಬಂದವು.
18ಯಾವನೂ ಯಾವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೂ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ತಂದೆಯ ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗ ನಾಗಿರುವಾತನು ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
19ನೀನು ಯಾರು ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವದ ಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾಗ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಇದೇ.
20ಅವನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅಲ್ಲಗಳೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವನು--ನಾನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡನು.
