ಆತನೇ ನನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರು ವಾತನಾಗಿದ್ದು ನನಗಿಂತ ಮುಂದಿನವನಾದನು; ಆತನ ಕೆರದ ಬಾರನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

Aatane nanna hinde baru vaatanaagiddu nanaginta mundinavanaadanu; aatana kerada baarannu bichchuvadakke naanu yogyanalla endu helidanu.

25ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೂ ಎಲೀಯನೂ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೂ ಅಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುವದು ಯಾಕೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
26ಯೋಹಾನನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರ ವಾಗಿ--ನಾನು ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಅರಿಯದಿರುವಂಥ ಒಬ್ಬಾತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಾನೆ;
27ಆತನೇ ನನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಬರು ವಾತನಾಗಿದ್ದು ನನಗಿಂತ ಮುಂದಿನವನಾದನು; ಆತನ ಕೆರದ ಬಾರನ್ನು ಬಿಚ್ಚುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
28ಇವುಗಳು ಯೊರ್ದನಿನ ಆಚೆ ಕಡೆಯ ಬೇಥಾಬರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದವು; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಬಾಪ್ತಿಸ್ಮ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
29ಮರುದಿನ ಯೋಹಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಲೋಕದ ಪಾಪ ವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕುವ ದೇವರ ಕುರಿಮರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
