ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಊದಾಬಣ್ಣದ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಲು ಪಿಲಾತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು! ಅಂದನು.
Aaga yesu mullina kireetavannu mattu oodaabannada niluvangiyannu dharisikondavanaagi horage baralu pilaatanu avarige--igo, ee manushyanu! Andanu.

- 5ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಮುಳ್ಳಿನ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಊದಾಬಣ್ಣದ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರಲು ಪಿಲಾತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ಇಗೋ, ಈ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು! ಅಂದನು.
- 6ಪ್ರಧಾನಯಾಜಕರೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ--ಅವನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸು, ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸು ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಪಿಲಾತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವೇ ಆತನನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಅಪರಾಧವನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
- 7ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಅವ ನಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣವಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ಆ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವನು ಸಾಯಲೇಬೇಕು; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ದೇವರಮಗನೆಂದು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದರು.
