Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee?

This saying therefore went out among the brothers that this disciple wouldn’t die. Yet Jesus didn’t say to him that he wouldn’t die, but, “If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you?”

3. 23ಆಗ ಆ ಶಿಷ್ಯನು ಸಾಯುವದಿ ಲ್ಲವೆಂಬ ಮಾತು ಸಹೋದರರಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡಿತು. ಆದರೂ--ಅವನು ಸಾಯುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ--ನಾನು ಬರುವ ತನಕ ಅವನು ಇರುವದು ನನಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ನಿನಗೇನು ಎಂತಲೇ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
4. 24ಇವುಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿ ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆದ ಶಿಷ್ಯನು ಇವನೇ; ಇವನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸತ್ಯವೆಂದು ನಾವು ಬಲ್ಲೆವು.ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೇಸು ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳು ಬಹಳ ಉಂಟು; ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದೊಂದಾಗಿ ಬರೆಯುವ ದಾದರೆ ಬರೆಯಬೇಕಾದ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಲೋಕವೇ ಹಿಡಿಸಲಾರದೆ ಹೋದೀತೆಂದು ನಾನು ನೆನಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಆಮೆನ್‌.
