ಯೇಸು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡಿ ಆ ಹೆಂಗಸಿನ ಹೊರತು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದೆ ಆಕೆಗೆ--ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ಹೊರಿಸಿದವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ದಾರೆ? ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅಂದನು.

- 10ಯೇಸು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡಿ ಆ ಹೆಂಗಸಿನ ಹೊರತು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದೆ ಆಕೆಗೆ--ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂರು ಹೊರಿಸಿದವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ದಾರೆ? ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅಂದನು.
- 11ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕೆಯು-- ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಯಾರೂ ವಿಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದಳು. ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ--ನಾನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಹೋಗು, ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಬೇಡ ಅಂದನು.
- 12ತರುವಾಯ ಯೇಸು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನಾನೇ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವನು ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವದಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ಜೀವದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
