ಆಗ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನ ಜನರು--ಪರ್ವತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಅರಸುಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡದೆ ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡು ಎಂದು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.

- 6ಆಗ ಗಿಬ್ಯೋನಿನ ಜನರು--ಪರ್ವತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವ ಅಮೋರಿಯರ ಅರಸುಗಳೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರನ್ನು ಕೈಬಿಡದೆ ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡು ಎಂದು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
- 7ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನು ಗಿಲ್ಗಾಲನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತಾನೂ ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಮಸ್ತಯುದ್ಧದ ಜನರೂ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಗಳೂ ಏರಿಹೋದರು.
- 8ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನು ಯೆಹೋಶುವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡಬೇಡ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು.
