ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಪ್ತಾಹನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು. ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

- 31ನಾನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಲಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬರುವಂಥದ್ದು ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನದಾಗಿರುವದು. ಅದನ್ನು ದಹನಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು ಅಂದನು.
- 32ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಪ್ತಾಹನು ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರೆದುರಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು. ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
- 33ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರೋಯೇರಿ ನಿಂದ ನೀನು ಮಿನ್ನೀತಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಇರುವ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ತೋಟದ ಬೈಲಿನ ವರೆಗೂ ಮಹಾದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಹಾರದಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅಮ್ಮೋನನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮುಂದೆ ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟರು.
- 34ಯೆಪ್ತಾಹನು ಮಿಚ್ಪೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುವಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಅವನ ಮಗಳು ದಮ್ಮಡಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ನಾಟ್ಯದ ಸಂಗಡವೂ ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರು ಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ಹೊರಟಳು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅವಳು ಒಬ್ಬಳೇ ಮಗಳು; ಅವಳ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಗನಾಗಲಿ ಮಗಳಾಗಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
