ಆದರೆ ಸಂಸೋ ನನು ಅರ್ಧ ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ವರೆಗೆ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದು ಅರ್ಧ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಲ ಕದಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಎರಡು ತೋಳುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅಗುಳಿ ಸಹ ಕಿತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಗಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಪರ್ವತ ಶಿಖರದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.

- 3ಆದರೆ ಸಂಸೋ ನನು ಅರ್ಧ ರಾತ್ರಿಯ ವರೆಗೆ ಮಲಗಿದ್ದು ಅರ್ಧ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಾಗಲ ಕದಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಎರಡು ತೋಳುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿದು ಅಗುಳಿ ಸಹ ಕಿತ್ತು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಗಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ಪರ್ವತ ಶಿಖರದ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
- 4ಇದರ ತರುವಾಯ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, ಸೋರೇಕ್‌ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದೆಲೀಲಾ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದನು.
- 5ಅವಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ಅವಳಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಮರುಳುಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ನಾವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಯಾವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಗೆದ್ದು ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಬಾಧಿಸಬಹುದೆಂದು ಅವನ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಯಾವದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದೆ ಎಂದೂ ನೋಡು; ನಾವು ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾವಿರದ ನೂರು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯ ಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವೆವು ಅಂದರು.
