ಆ ಊರಿನವರು ಯೋವಾಷನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ; ಅವನು ಸಾಯಬೇಕು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಬಾಳನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಅದರ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತೋಪನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಹಾಕಿದನು ಅಂದರು.
Aa oorinavaru yovaashanige--ninna maganannu horage takkondu baa; avanu saayabeku. Yaakandare baalana balipeethavannu kedavi adara baliyallidda topannu kadidu haakidanu andaru.

- 28ಆ ಊರಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಉದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದ್ದಾಗ ಇಗೋ, ಬಾಳನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವು ಕೆಡವಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಅದರ ಸವಿಾಪದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತೋಪು ಕಡಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಬಲಿಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ಆ ಎರಡನೇ ಹೋರಿ ಬಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು.
- 29ಆಗ ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊ ಬ್ಬರು--ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವನಾರು ಅಂದರು. ಅವರು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ಅವರು--ಯೋವಾಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನು ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದನು ಅಂದರು.
- 30ಆ ಊರಿನವರು ಯೋವಾಷನಿಗೆ--ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ; ಅವನು ಸಾಯಬೇಕು. ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಬಾಳನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಅದರ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತೋಪನ್ನು ಕಡಿದು ಹಾಕಿದನು ಅಂದರು.
- 31ಆದರೆ ಯೋವಾಷನು ತನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಸಮಸ್ತರಿಗೂ--ನೀವು ಬಾಳನಿ ಗಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡುವಿರೋ? ನೀವು ಅವನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು ವಿರೋ? ಅವನಿಗಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯಮಾಡುವವನು ಈ ಉದಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲೇ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲ್ಪಡಲಿ; ಅವನು ದೇವರಾ ದರೆ ತನ್ನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
- 32ಗಿದ್ಯೋ ನನು ಬಾಳನ ಬಲಿಪೀಠವನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವಾಡಲೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಆ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯೆರುಬ್ಬಾಳನೆಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
