1. 6ಆಗ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಎತ್ತಿ ನೆಕ್ಕಿದವರ ಲೆಕ್ಕವು ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಉಳಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೀರು ಕುಡಿಯುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿ ಬೊಗ್ಗಿದರು.
2. 7ಆಗ ಕರ್ತನು ಗಿದ್ಯೋನನಿಗೆ--ನೆಕ್ಕಿ ಕುಡಿದ ಆ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನರಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿ ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡುವೆನು; ಇತರ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲಾ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲಿ ಅಂದನು.
3. 8ಆಗ ಜನರು ಆಹಾರವನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ತುತೂರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡರು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರವರ ಗುಡಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಆ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡನು. ಮಿದ್ಯಾನ್ಯರ ದಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕೆಳ ಭಾಗವಾದ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು.
4. 9ಅದೇ ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆದದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, ಕರ್ತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ--ನೀನು ಎದ್ದು ದಂಡಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗು; ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
5. 10ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟರೆ (ಮೊದಲು) ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಪುರನ ಸಂಗಡ ದಂಡಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ
