ಅವರು ನಗರದ ಬೀದಿ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಯ ಪಟ್ಟವರ ಹಾಗೆ ಮೂರ್ಛೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಂದಿರ ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾ--ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವೂ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದು ತಮ ತಾಯಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

10ಚೀಯೋನ್‌ ಮಗಳ ಹಿರಿಯರು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ನಿಶ್ಯಬ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ತಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ದೂಳು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಅವರು ಗೊಣೀತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ಯೆರೂಸಲೇ ಮಿನ ಕನ್ಯೆಯರು ತಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ನೆಲದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬೊಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
11ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಕಣ್ಣೀರನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಇವೆ. ನನ್ನ ಕರುಳುಗಳು ಕುದಿಯುತ್ತವೆ, ನನ್ನ ಪಿತ್ತಕೋಶವು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ, ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರ ಮಗಳು ನಾಶವಾಗಿದ್ದಾಳೆ. ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಮೊಲೆಕೂಸುಗಳೂ ನಗರದ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರ್ಛೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
12ಅವರು ನಗರದ ಬೀದಿ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಯ ಪಟ್ಟವರ ಹಾಗೆ ಮೂರ್ಛೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ತಾಯಂದಿರ ಎದೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಾ--ರೊಟ್ಟಿಯೂ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವೂ ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂದು ತಮ ತಾಯಂದಿರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
13ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯೇ, ನಾನು ಯಾವದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ನ್ನಾಗಿಡಲಿ? ಯಾವದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಮಾನ ಮಾಡಲಿ? ಚೀಯೋನಿನ ಮಗಳಾದ ಕನ್ಯೆಯೇ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ಯಾವದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಮಾನಮಾಡಲಿ? ನಿನ್ನ ಮುರಿಯುವಿಕೆಯು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಹಾಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ದಾಗಿದೆ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಗುಣಪಡಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರು?
14ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ವ್ಯರ್ಥವಾದ ಮೂರ್ಖತನದ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ನಿನ್ನ ದುರವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಗಿಸುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಟತನ ವನ್ನು ಬಯಲಿಗೆ ತರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನಿನಗಾಗಿ ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ಭಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ಗಡೀಪಾರು ಮಾಡುವ ಕಾರಣ ಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
