ಆಗ ವರ್ತಕರೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸರಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರುವವರೂ ಒಂದೆರಡು ಸಾರಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಹೊರಗೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದರು.

- 19ಆದಕಾರಣ ಸಬ್ಬತ್‌ ಆಗುವದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬಾಗಲು ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಲು ಆಗಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ ಬಾಗಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಸಬ್ಬತ್‌ ದಿವಸವು ತೀರುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯದೆ ಇರುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ಮತ್ತು ಸಬ್ಬತ್‌ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊರೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಒಳಗೆ ತಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಬಾಗಲುಗಳ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟೆನು.
- 20ಆಗ ವರ್ತಕರೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸರಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾರುವವರೂ ಒಂದೆರಡು ಸಾರಿ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಹೊರಗೆ ರಾತ್ರಿಯನ್ನು ಕಳೆದರು.
- 21ಆಗ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ಕೋಟೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಳುಕೊಂಡಿರುವದೇನು? ನೀವು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವೆನು ಅಂದೆನು. ಆ ಹೊತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ಅವರು ಸಬ್ಬತ್‌ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ;
- 22ಆಗ ಲೇವಿಯರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಶುಚಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದೂ ಸಬ್ಬತ್‌ ದಿವಸವನ್ನು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವರು ಬಂದು ಬಾಗಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಾಯಬೇಕೆಂದೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ನನ್ನ ದೇವರೇ, ಇದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೆನಸಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಾ ಕೃಪೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು ಅಂದೆನು.
