ಆದರೆ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರೊಳಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರಾದ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನೂ ಯೆಫುನ್ನೆಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಕಾಲೇಬನೂ ಉಳಿದರು.

- 39ಮೋಶೆಯು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್‌ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದಾಗ ಜನರು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟರು.
- 40ಮರುದಿವಸ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಅವರು ಎದ್ದು ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ--ಇಗೋ, ಕರ್ತನು ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಅಂದರು.
