ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವಾತನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತುತ್ತೇನೆ.
A Song of degrees. Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
ಇಗೋ, ದಾಸರ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನರ ಕೈಯನ್ನೂ ದಾಸಿಯ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನಿಯ ಕೈಯನ್ನೂ ನೋಡುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವ ವರೆಗೆ ಆತನನ್ನೇ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
Behold, as the eyes of servants [look] unto the hand of their masters, [and] as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes [wait] upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು; ಓ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು; ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ತಿರ ಸ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ್ದೇವೆ.ಭೋಗಿಗಳ ಹಾಸ್ಯದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವು ತುಂಬಿಯದೆ, ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಟರ ನಿಂದೆ ಯಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬೇಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತು.
Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
ಭೋಗಿಗಳ ಹಾಸ್ಯದಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವು ತುಂಬಿಯದೆ, ಗರ್ವಿಷ್ಟರ ನಿಂದೆ ಯಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಬೇಸತ್ತು ಹೋಯಿತು.
Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, [and] with the contempt of the proud.
