ಸ್ಮುರ್ನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಭೆಯ ದೂತನಿಗೆ ಬರೆ: ಮೊದ ಲನೆಯವನೂ ಕಡೆಯವನೂ ಸತ್ತವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಈಗ ಬದುಕುವಾತನೂ ಹೇಳುವವುಗಳು ಯಾವವೆಂದರೆ,

- 9ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಸಂಕಟವನ್ನೂ ಬಡತನವನೂ ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; (ಆದರೂ ನೀನು ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನೇ). ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳು ವವರ ದೂಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು; ಅವರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲ, ಸೈತಾನನ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದವರಾಗಿ ದ್ದಾರೆ.
- 10ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸಂಕಟಪಡಿಸುವವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ದಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆದರಬೇಡ. ಇಗೋ, ನೀವು ಶೋಧಿಸಲ್ಪಡು ವಂತೆ ಸೈತಾನನು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಹಾಕುವನು; ಹತ್ತು ದಿವಸಗಳ ತನಕ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಂಕಟವಿ ರುವದು. ನೀನು ಸಾಯಬೇಕಾದರೂ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತ ನಾಗಿರು; ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ
