ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನಾನು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡದೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಪವಿ ತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ನನಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತದೆ.
I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
ಅದೇನಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಭಾರವೂ ಎಡೆಬಿಡದ ದುಃಖವೂ ಉಂಟು.
That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧ ವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಸ್ವಜನರಾಗಿರುವ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೊಸ್ಕರ ನಾನೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಿಂದ ಅಗಲಿ ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತನಾಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡೇನು.
For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:
ಇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರು; ದತ್ತುಪುತ್ರ ಸ್ವಿಕಾರವೂ ಮಹಿಮೆಯೂ ಒಡಂಬಡಿ ಕೆಗಳೂ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಕೊಡೋಣವೂ ದೇವರ ಸೇವೆಯೂ ವಾಗ್ದಾನಗಳೂ ಇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಪಟ್ಟವುಗಳು.
Who are Israelites; to whom [pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of God], and the promises;
ಪಿತೃಗಳು ಇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವರೇ; ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾಗಿ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಇವರಿಂದಲೇ ಬಂದನು; ಆತನು ಎಲ್ಲಾದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಇರುವಾತನಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಿರಂತರಕ್ಕೂ ಸ್ತುತಿ ಹೊಂದತಕ್ಕ ದೇವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆಮೆನ್‌.
Whose [are] the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ [came], who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.
ದೇವರ ಮಾತು ನಿರರ್ಥಕವಾಯಿತೆಂತಲ್ಲ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟವ ರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಲ್ಲ;
Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they [are] not all Israel, which are of Israel:
ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಅವರು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಾದ ಕಾರಣ ಅವರೆ ಲ್ಲರೂ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ--ಇಸಾಕನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತ ತಿಯು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವದು ಎಂಬದೇ.
Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, [are they] all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.
ಅಂದರೆ--ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧವಾದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ದೇವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ವಾಗ್ದಾನದ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ ಆತನ ಸಂತತಿಯೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these [are] not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.
ಈ ವಾಗ್ದಾನದ ಮಾತೇನಂ ದರೆ--ಮುಂದಿನ ವರುಷದ ಇದೇ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಬರುವೆನು. ಆಗ ಸಾರಳಿಗೆ ಮಗನು ಇರುವನು ಎಂಬದೇ.
For this [is] the word of promise, At this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.
ಇದು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ರೆಬೆಕ್ಕಳು ಸಹ ಒಬ್ಬನಿಂದ ಅಂದರೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃವಾದ ಇಸಾಕನಿಂದ ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾದಾಗ
And not only [this]; but when Rebecca also had conceived by one, [even] by our father Isaac;
(ಮಕ್ಕಳಿನ್ನೂ ಹುಟ್ಟದಿರುವಾಗ ಮತ್ತು ಒಳ್ಳೇದನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಮಾಡದಿರು ವಾಗ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ದೇವರ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವು ಸ್ಥಿರಗೊಳ್ಳು ವಂತೆ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳಿಂದಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಕರೆದಾತನಿಂದಲೇ)
(For [the children] being not yet born, neither having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;)
ಹಿರಿಯವನು ಕಿರಿಯವನಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವನು ಎಂದು ಆಕೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
It was said unto her, The elder shall serve the younger.
ಇದಕ್ಕನುಸಾರ-- ನಾನು ಯಾಕೋಬನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದೆನು ಮತು ಏಸಾವನನ್ನು ಹಗೆಮಾಡಿದೆನು ಎಂದು ಬರೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಾವು ಏನು ಹೇಳೋಣ? ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೀತಿ ಉಂಟೋ? ಹಾಗೆ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
ಆತನು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ--ಯಾವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನನಗೆ ಕರುಣೆ ಇದೆಯೋ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವೆನು ಮತ್ತು ಯಾವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ಇದೆಯೋ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದಯೆ ತೋರಿಸುವೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ ಅದು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುವವನಿಂದಾಗಲೀ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಪಡುವವನಿಂದಾಗಲೀ ಆಗದೆ ಕರುಣೆ ತೋರಿ ಸುವ ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ ಆಗುವದು.
So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
ಬರಹವು ಫರೋ ಹನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನ ಬಲವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ನಾಮವು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೂ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ.
For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.
ಆದದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಯಾವನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿ ರುವನೋ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸುವನು; ಯಾವನನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವನೋ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಪಡಿಸುವನು.
Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth.
ಆಗ ನೀನು ನನಗೆ--ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಆತನು ಇನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪು ಕಂಡುಹಿಡಿಯುವದು ಹೇಗೆ? ಆತನ ಚಿತ್ತವನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸುವದು ಯಾರಿಂದಾದೀತು ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವಿ.
Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
ಆದರೆ ಓ ಮನುಷ್ಯನೇ, ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಎದುರು ಮಾತನಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀನು ಯಾರು? ರೂಪಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟದ್ದು ರೂಪಿಸಿದವನಿಗೆ--ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೀಗೇಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವದುಂಟೇ?
Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed [it], Why hast thou made me thus?
ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರ ವಕ್ಕೂ ಇನ್ನೊಂದನ್ನು ಅಗೌರವಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದೇ ಮುದ್ದೆ ಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಂಬಾರನಿಗೆ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
ಹೀಗಿರಲು ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ತನ್ನ ಬಲವನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೂ ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಕೋಪದ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಬಹು ದೀರ್ಘಶಾಂತಿಯಿಂದ ತಾಳಿಕೊಂಡು
[What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
ಮುಂಚಿತ ವಾಗಿಯೇ ತಾನು ಮಹಿಮೆಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದ ಕರುಣೆಯ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮಾತಿಶಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸುವವನಾಗಿ
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ಅನ್ಯಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರೊ ಳಗಿಂದಲೂ ಆತನು ಕರೆದಿದ್ದರೆ ಏನು?
Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನು--ನನ್ನ ಜನರಲ್ಲದವರನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಜನರೆಂದೂ ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯಳಲ್ಲದವಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಿಯಳೆಂದೂ ಕರೆಯು ವೆನು ಎಂದು ಹೋಶೇಯನ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved.
ಯಾವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ--ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಜನರಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆಯೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅವರು ಜೀವಿಸುವ ದೇವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವರು ಎಂಬದು.
And it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye [are] not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God.
ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಸಹ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯು ಸಮುದ್ರದ ಮರಳಿನೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಒಂದು ಅಂಶ ಮಾತ್ರ ರಕ್ಷಣೆ ಹೊಂದುವದು ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:
ಆತನು ನೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕ್ಲುಪ್ತಮಾಡಿ ಪೂರ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ; ಕಾರಣವೇ ನಂದರೆ, ಕರ್ತನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಕ್ಲುಪ್ತ ವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವನು.
For he will finish the work, and cut [it] short in righteousness: because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth.
ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಮುಂದಾಗಿ--ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಕರ್ತನು ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಸಂತಾನ ವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾವು ಸೊದೋಮಿನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆವು; ಗೊಮೋರದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯು ನಮ್ಮದಾ ಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನಾವು ಏನು ಹೇಳೋಣ? ನೀತಿ ಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಮಾಡದ ಅನ್ಯ ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೀತಿಯು ಅಂದರೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದುಂಟಾಗುವ ನೀತಿಯು ದೊರಕಿತು.
What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
ಆದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣ ದಿಂದುಂಟಾದ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇ ಲ್ಯರು ನ್ಯಾಯಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ನೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದದೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವೇನು? ಅವರು ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆಧಾರಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಧಾರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದೇ ಕಾರಣ.ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಚೀಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಡವುವ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನೂ ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವ ಬಂಡೆಯನ್ನೂ ಇಡುತ್ತೇ ನೆಂತಲೂ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡುವವನು ಆಶಾ ಭಂಗಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂತಲೂ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಆ ಎಡವುವ ಕಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಎಡವಿಬಿದ್ದರು ಎಂಬದೇ.
Wherefore? Because [they sought it] not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಚೀಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಎಡವುವ ಕಲ್ಲನ್ನೂ ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವ ಬಂಡೆಯನ್ನೂ ಇಡುತ್ತೇ ನೆಂತಲೂ ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಡುವವನು ಆಶಾ ಭಂಗಪಡುವದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂತಲೂ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಆ ಎಡವುವ ಕಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಎಡವಿಬಿದ್ದರು ಎಂಬದೇ.
As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
