ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಸ್ತನಗಳನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದ ನನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನ ಹಾಗೆ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಉತ್ತಮ! ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕಂಡರೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಡುವೆನು; ಹೌದು, (ಜನರು) ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸರು.
O that thou [wert] as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! [when] I should find thee without, I would kiss thee; yea, I should not be despised.
ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಉಪದೇಶಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿ ನನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿ, ದಾಳಿಂಬರ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ರಸವಾದ ಊರಿಟ್ಟ ಪಾನವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಕುಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.
I would lead thee, [and] bring thee into my mother’s house, [who] would instruct me: I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.
ಅವನ ಎಡಗೈ ನನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಕೆಳಗಿರುವದು; ಅವನ ಬಲಗೈ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವದು.
His left hand [should be] under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
ಓ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಕುಮಾರ್ತೆಯರೇ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ--ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯನು ಮೆಚ್ಚುವ ವರೆಗೆ ನೀವು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸದೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿ ಸದೆಯೂ ಇರ್ರಿ.
I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake [my] love, until he please.
ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತುಕೊಂಡು ಅರಣ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಇವಳು ಯಾರು? ಸೇಬು ಗಿಡದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಿದೆನು; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನ ತಾಯಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಳು; ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತವಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಳು.
Who [is] this that cometh up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? I raised thee up under the apple tree: there thy mother brought thee forth: there she brought thee forth [that] bare thee.
ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಮುದ್ರೆಯ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈಮೇಲೆ ಒಂದು ಮುದ್ರೆಯ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಾಕು; ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಮರಣದ ಹಾಗೆ ಬಲವಾಗಿರುವದು; ರೋಷವು ಸಮಾಧಿಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಕ್ರೂರವಾಗಿರುವದು; ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಲುಗಳ ಬೆಂಕಿಯು ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಿಸುವ ಜ್ವಾಲೆಯ ಕಿಡಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಇರುವವು.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love [is] strong as death; jealousy [is] cruel as the grave: the coals thereof [are] coals of fire, [which hath a] most vehement flame.
ಅನೇಕ ಜಲಗಳು ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನು ಆರಿ ಸಲಾರವು; ಪ್ರವಾಹಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಮುಣುಗಿಸ ಲಾರವು; ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರೀತಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಅದು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವದು.
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if [a] man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned.
ನಮಗೆ ಚಿಕ್ಕವಳಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸಹೋದರಿ ಇದ್ದಾಳೆ; ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಸ್ತನಗಳಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವಳು ಕೇಳಲ್ಪಡುವ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಹೋದರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಏನು ಮಾಡುವ?
We have a little sister, and she hath no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
ಅವಳು ಗೋಡೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾವು ಅವಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಅರಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವೆವು. ಅವಳು ಬಾಗಲಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ದೇವದಾರು ಹಲಿಗೆಗಳಿಂದ ಅವಳನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚುವೆವು.
If she [be] a wall, we will build upon her a palace of silver: and if she [be] a door, we will inclose her with boards of cedar.
ನಾನು ಗೋಡೆಯೇ; ನನ್ನ ಸ್ತನಗಳು ಬುರುಜುಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಅವೆ.
I [am] a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favour.
ಆಗ, ನಾನು ಅವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದಯ ಹೊಂದಿದವಳ ಹಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು. ಬಾಲ್ಹಾಮೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ತೋಟ ಇತ್ತು. ಅವನು ಆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ತೋಟವನ್ನು ಒಕ್ಕಲಿಗರಿಗೆ ಗುತ್ತಿ ಗೆಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ಅದರ ಫಲಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಾವಿರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತರಬೇಕಾಗಿತ್ತು.
Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon; he let out the vineyard unto keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand [pieces] of silver.
ನನ್ನದಾದ ನನ್ನ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ತೋಟವು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಅದೆ. ಓ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನೇ, ನಿನಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾವಿರ ಇರತಕ್ಕದ್ದು. ಅದರ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವವರಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಆಗಲಿ.
My vineyard, which [is] mine, [is] before me: thou, O Solomon, [must have] a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.
ತೋಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿರುವವನೇ, ಜತೆ ಗಾರರು ನಿನ್ನ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಆಲೈಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾನು ಕೇಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು.ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ, ತ್ವರೆಮಾಡು, ಜಿಂಕೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸುಗಂಧವುಳ್ಳ ಪರ್ವತಗಳ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ದುಪ್ಪಿ ಮರಿಯ ಹಾಗೆಯೆ ಇರು.
Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear [it].
ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಿಯನೇ, ತ್ವರೆಮಾಡು, ಜಿಂಕೆಯ ಹಾಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಸುಗಂಧವುಳ್ಳ ಪರ್ವತಗಳ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ದುಪ್ಪಿ ಮರಿಯ ಹಾಗೆಯೆ ಇರು.
Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
