2. 23മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രക്കാർ ദേശത്തു പാർത്തു ബാശാൻമുതൽ ബാൽ-ഹെർമ്മോനും, സെനീരും, ഹെർമ്മോൻ പർവ്വതവും വരെ പെരുകി പരന്നു.
3. 24അവരുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങളുടെ തലവന്മാരാവിതു: ഏഫെർ, യിശി, എലീയേൽ, അസ്ത്രീയേൽ, യിരെമ്യാവു, ഹോദവ്യാവു, യഹദീയേൽ; ഇവർ ശൂരന്മാരും ശ്രുതിപ്പെട്ടവരും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനങ്ങൾക്കു തലവന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നു.
4. 25എന്നാൽ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവത്തോടു ദ്രോഹംചെയ്തു, ദൈവം അവരുടെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ദേശത്തെ ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരോടു ചേർന്നു പരസംഗമായി നടന്നു.
5. 26ആകയാൽ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവം അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ പൂലിന്റെയും അശ്ശൂർരാജാവായ തിഗ്ലത്ത്-പിൽനേസരിന്റെയും മനസ്സുണർത്തി; അവൻ രൂബേന്യരെയും ഗാദ്യരെയും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതി ഗോത്രത്തെയും പിടിച്ചു ഹലഹിലേക്കും ഹാബോരിലേക്കും ഹാരയിലേക്കും ഗോസാൻ നദീതീരത്തേക്കും കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവിടെ അവർ ഇന്നുവരെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.
